About Tomer Dekel

TomerDekel"When I hold the basic and natural materials in my hands, just as I do in my profession as a hair stylist, I can anticipate the final artistic results.

The satisfaction of such an endeavor stimulates me to create more and more", : Tomer Dekel said.

‏Tomer Dekel was always able to see what others couldn't, the beauty in things that others thought had no use. All of his magnificent light fixtures are created from recycled materials. Tomer recognized the artistic potential and gave these materials new life by connecting art to light.

Tomer began this creativity as a young child who dismantled his toys In order to discover how they worked from inside. His mechanical and artistic skills were the catalyst in transforming his toys from one object to another.  A racing car was transformed into a crane.

As a teenager, Tomer joined a gold crafting class and began to create jewelry at home.

While in the army, Tomer became a hair stylist and continued his Military service as a preferred hairdresser. After completing his army service, Tomer began working with his father, Yossi Dekel, a renowned hair stylist in Israel. He improved the art of hair styling while working at the salon with his father, and then began his own hair salon, which he manages today.

While working one day, Tomer noticed someone selling an old washing machine, and his creative mind pushed him to purchase it. This creation became his first artistic lamp. From that moment, creating new light fixtures became his new life. Each fixture is completely different from the other.

All of Tomer's beautiful and intricate lighting fixtures are hand made at his home studio with recycled materials that we use on a daily basis. Antiques, car engines, old burning stoves are unrecognizable as they change into breathtaking works of art. One never knows what Tomer's magic hands and creative soul will uniquely create next. The sky is the limit.
